A screenplay reconstruction of the night of October 10, 2012, on Calle International.
The following script is a visualisation of how the night of October 10, 2012 along Calle International in Nogales Sonora transpired, as per accounts given to the media by United States Border Patrol and covered in various news stories. This script is an exercise by the creators of Tempor to critically evaluate the events along with photographs taken on our trip, taking into the account this and other accounts of United States Border Patrol firing their weapons across the fence into Mexico. In an effort to respect a Trial set by a United States District Court in February 21,2017 the name of the specific defendant has been left out of this script.
FADE IN:
EXT. CALLE INTERNATIONAL, 11:30 PM MOUNTAIN TIME
A small road that runs parallel to a 20 ft high steel and concrete border fence separating Nogales, Sonora from Nogales, Arizona. The area surrounding the Arizona side is a paid parking lot for american tourists to cross into Mexico. The Sonora side has a series of parking spots and is on lower ground to the fence, it is relatively vacant, but it is one block away from the central tourist zone of affordable dental facilities and pharmacies offering prescription medications mostly catered to American tourists.
CUT TO:
EXT. ARIZONA SIDE, W. INTERNATIONAL STREET (ON HIGHER GROUND)
Rocks fly over the fence.
BORDER PATROL AGENT
Stop throwing boulders on me, or I will shoot.

EXT. ARIZONA SIDE BARREL OF A GUN FLASHING FROM A HECKLER AND KOCH P2000 40 CAL. PISTOL, TEN SHOTS FIRE, ONE STORED IN THE BARREL, NINE IN THE MAGAZINE

EXT. ARIZONA SIDE, LOOKING THRU THE THREE-AND-A-HALF INCH SLATS OF THE BORDER FENCE TO THE LOWER FOOTING OF THE MEXICO SIDE OF THE BORDER
The body of a teenager being struck center mast, eight times out of ten possible shots in the agent’s magazine, an 80% hit rate. The flash of the gun is freezing the changing movements of Jose Antonio Elena Rodriguez like a camera flash.
NARRATOR
The bullets find their way thru a heavy steel piece of architecture that has slats so thin, a child’s head could not fit.
EXT. ARIZONA SIDE W. INTERNATIONAL STREET ON HIGHER GROUND, NOON
CUT TO:
Still image of border fence with sticker showing illustrated face of victim with demands requested by the community. The sound of ringing ears to a slow fading deafening silence persists to the fade out.
NARRATOR
It is plainly and directly stated in a simple sticker that is stuck along the border fence, that the community of Nogales Sonora is asking the U.S. Border Patrol to release video concerning the incident to prove or disprove that something resembling this script is truthful. As of January 2017, no agency has made this video public.
